“Retrograde Planets”

I’m often asked about retrograde planets in the chart. In the second half of 2026 there will be a number of planets moving in retrograde motion and for a period in October to November this year, both Mercury and Venus will be retrograde in water signs. I’ll explain retrograde motion and the various ways each of the planets may be experienced when they appear to be moving backwards in the sky. Rx planets are often seen as carrying karmic energy from the past or from unresolved ancestral issues. I’ll also introduce progressions and what may be experienced when a nataly retrograde planet turns direct by progression (or the reverse), at some time in your life.

This is the first part of a series of 2 workshops examining the themes of relationship, compatability, karmic connections etc in the birthchart. Why do we attract the people we do in our life? What qualities are we attracted to in others? What are our repeated challenges in relationship? What are our karmic issues in relationship? In this first part we’ll examine the birth chart itself firstly to understand the individual’s relationship issues and then we’ll look at the synastry techniques to understand the dynamics between you and other person eg your partner or any significant other.

Relationship Astrology Part 2

In this Part2 workshop, we’ll continue the exploration of synastry and also bring in the Composite Chart. This is the chart that is created when we blend any 2 charts together. It indicates the themes, purpose and issues of any relationship between two people and can be very revealing and helpful. We can also generate group composite charts eg blending all charts in a family eg parents and children to show the energies of a family as whole entity.
